POSITION DESCRIPTION AND DUTIES

 

Overview

 

The Ph.D Program in Mathematics at The Graduate Center of The City University of New York anticipates a position, to begin September 2008, at the postdoctoral visiting assistant professor level. This is a non-tenure-track position with a term of two years, supported by the Graduate Center (Mathematics) and the NSF (RTG Grant in Number Theory).

 

The successful candidate will teach one undergraduate course per year and oversee the progress of four Number Theory RTG graduate students at CUNY.

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

 

The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in Mathematics awarded within the last 18 months, must be legally authorized to work in the United States, and show outstanding research potential in Number Theory.

 

The position is subject to official confirmation by NSF (anticipated before March 12, 2008). The Search Committee will begin to examine applications on March 12 and will make a rapid decision.
